NBC’s new comedy series “Bad Judge” has had what Nellie Andreeva at Deadline.com calls a “major behind-the-scenes shakeup,” with showrunner Liz Brixius leaving the show over creative differences.
Brixius, who joined the show in May and is the co-creator of “Nurse Jackie,” will return to development under her overall deal with Universal TV, the story notes.
The change in the showrunner isn’t expected to delay the series’ Oct. 2 debut. While Betsy Thomas had been approached about taking Brixius’ place, it turns out she won’t join the show, Andreeva writes.
The comedy stars Kate Walsh as a tough judge and former wild child.
