The director of a number of the “Fast and the Furious” feature films is in talks to helm HBO’s “True Detective” during season two, Deadline.com reports.

Justin Lin is negotiating for at least the first two episodes of the season, Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reports.

“He would succeed Cary Fukunaga, who helmed and executive produced all eight episodes from Season 1 and just won the best director for a drama series Emmy for his work,” Andreeva reports, adding: “As has been the case with anything related to Season 2 of ‘True Detective,’ HBO declined comment.”

Show creator Nic Pizzolatto is expected to be the only key player from season one to return, Andreeva notes.

“No cast members or plot for next season have been confirmed, but Colin Ferrell, Taylor Kitsch and Vince Vaughn are expected to be in the cast,” the report adds.
