Fox Cancels Drama Series

Fox has pulled the plug on a drama series after a short run. Writing on Deadline.com, Nellie Andreeva reports that the channel canceled “Gang Related” following its summer run.

The show opened in May with a soft debut, pulling a 0.9 rating in adults 18-49 in Live+Same Day. The series maintained a fairly consistent audience, holding onto a core following during its first season, the piece adds.

The series, which tracks members of the Gang Task Force in the LAPD and stars Terry O’Quinn and Jay Hernandez, was originally slated for a midseason debut, but that was pushed back to the summer.

Andreeva writes: “I hear Fox brass considered bringing the series back but deemed it too heavily serialized for the summer, the only slot available on Fox for the next year.”
