NBC Working on a Crossover Involving Three Shows

Sep 30, 2014  •  Post A Comment

NBC has a crossover event in the works that will weave storylines among three prime-time shows. TheWrap.com reports that the network is working on a crossover involving “Law & Order: SVU,” “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago PD.”

The storyline will focus on a child pornography ring, with the plot beginning on “Chicago Fire” on Nov. 11. The story will continue Nov. 12 on “Law & Order: SVU” and then move to “Chicago PD,” with those two shows airing back to back. All three shows are produced by Dick Wolf’s Wolf Films.

“Warren Leight (“SVU” showrunner) and Matt Olmstead (“Chicago Fire”/”Chicago PD” showrunner) are two of the best writers in the business,” Wolf said in a statement. “We wanted to figure out a way to create a crime that connects all three shows. Warren, Matt and I came up with a story that was big and unique enough to transit to all three.”

  1. Note to the photo department: Couldn’t you find a more current publicity shot? Yikes.

  2. Has Marvel taken these over? 😉

  3. Note to NBC… While I like and look forward to watching Chicago Fire, these ongoing ‘crossover stunts’ are enough for me not-to-watch any of them.

I stopped being a viewer of SUV a long, long time ago. And Chicago PD is ‘hit-or-miss’ depending on the episode. (More miss when it is trying to stunt for viewers.) So, keep doing these forced story lines that simply make for ‘the lowest entertainment denominator.’ I’ll find something else worth my time on Netflix or elsewhere.
