Abby Lee Miller, the star of the Lifetime reality show “Dance Moms,” is being sued by a 13-year-old dancer who claims that Miller was cruel to her students and allegedly pinched them until they bled, TMZ.com reports.

Paige Hyland, who is suing, “says she feared being physically battered because she saw Miller physically attack others on the set,” the story reports.

The piece adds, “Paige says Miller’s M.O. was to make the girls cry, deriding them for being emotionally weak, calling them names, insulting their looks … all for drama.”

Hyland also claims she was made to work 60-hour weeks, the story says. TMZ said it requested a response from Miller but hadn’t received one.

The lawsuit comes after Hyland’s mother, Kelly Hyland, had already sued Miller for allegedly emotionally abusing her daughter. Both Miller and Kelly Hyland have accused each other of physical attacks, the piece adds.

  1. Ridiculous. Frivolous. All fine as a parent until you and your children got the boot. I have ALWAYS wondered why these moms would put their children in these circumstances unless it was for the glory and fame. Mothers are ther problem here not the dance teacher.

  2. Most of these programs are comparable to the old circus sideshows that featured “freaks” of nature. No one should be shocked that “freaks” behave badly, that is what the producers are encouraging and that is what the audience is tuning in to see. If you want it to stop, don’t provide the audience and programmers will stop producing the programs and move on to the next genre.
