Fox has had a shakeup among its executive ranks. Deadline.com reports that the shuffle affects the event series department, with two network executives leaving the unit.
Senior Vice President Shana C. Waterman and Vice President Jeni Mulein are leaving the unit, with Fox Entertainment President David Madden to run the department until a replacement is found, the story reports.
“Fox was the first broadcast network to jump on the event series bandwagon when the network joined forces with sibling FX in 2012 to launch an FX Prods.-based long-form production division run by Gina Balian,” the report notes.
The article adds: “It’s been hit and miss for Fox’s first two event series efforts, ’24: Live Another Day’ did well as it extended a well-known series franchise, while this fall’s ‘Gracepoint’ has been struggling. Next up is M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Wayward Pines.’”
