Family members have confirmed that a body found in a Seattle suburb is that of actress Misty Upham.
KTIC Radio reports that authorities were holding off on confirming the identity, but were saying the body is presumed to be Upham.
As we reported earlier this week, Upham was last seen leaving her apartment in Auburn, Wash., on Sunday, Oct. 5, and was reported missing by her family on Oct. 6. Her family feared the actress was suicidal.
“The Auburn Police Department says it received a call Thursday afternoon that a body had been found in a wooded area. The body was found at the bottom of an embankment near the White River by a member of Upham’s family,” KTIC reports.
Although a positive ID had not yet been made, the report notes: “A purse containing identification of Upham was found at the scene.”
Meanwhile, other media reports said family members had confirmed that the body was Upham’s. Her father, Charles Upham, reportedly confirmed her identity to police.
“The body has been turned over to the King County Medical Examiner for positive identification and a determination of cause of death. The medical examiner’s findings are expected to be released in the next few days,” KTIC reports.
Upham is known for a series of film roles including “August: Osage County” and “Django Unchained,” and is set to appear in an upcoming Jennifer Aniston drama, “Cake.”
