TV Land has given series orders to two of its pilots. Deadline.com reports that the 10-episode orders for “Impastor” and “Teachers” represent the network’s shift toward edgier comedy.
“Impastor” stars Michael Rosenbaum as Buddy Dobbs, a slacker who takes on the identity of a gay pastor in order to escape a loan shark. While he’s tempted to steal the church’s money, he decides he likes his new identity and the people in his church.
“Teachers,” based on a Web series from the improv group the Katydids, is about six elementary school teachers who are struggling in their personal lives.
Both shows will debut in 2015.
