In a video posted today, an aspiring actress spent a day walking around New York with a hidden camera secretly filming the catcalls she received. The New York Daily News reports that Shoshana Roberts received 108 catcalls during the 10-hour experiment.
Asked how she felt about the harassment, Roberts told the publication: “On a daily basis — this day included — feels awful. Some days I love talking with people and interacting, and I smile as I go down the street. Some days it brings up the sexual assault that occurred in my past.”
The experiment was done in coordination with Hollaback!, an organization that fights street harassment.
