An acquisition deal that has been in the works between Hasbro and DreamWorks Animation has been called off, with the toymaker and the studio ending discussions, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The talks may have been derailed by Hasbro’s stock price, which declined as investors learned of the potential acquisition, the story reports. DreamWorks Animation declined to comment.
“DreamWorks Animation had been seeking $35 a share from Hasbro, but many Wall Street analysts deemed the price steep and said so in research notes published Thursday and Friday,” the story reports.
Hasbro shares slipped 4% Thursday, and another 2% Friday.
