For His Farewell Show Craig Ferguson Will Bring Aboard a Guest Who Knows a Thing or Two About the Late-Night Talk Game — Especially About Making an Exit

Craig Ferguson’s farewell episode of “The Late Late Show” on CBS has lined up its final guest: former “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, who himself knows about saying goodbye to a late-night gig, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.

Ferguson’s last “Late Late Show” is scheduled for Dec. 19.

Leno ended a run on NBC’s “Tonight Show” in 2009, but then returned in 2010 and remained there until this year, before handing over the reins to Jimmy Fallon in February. Leno is currently working on a new series at CNBC called “Jay Leno’s Garage.”

The piece notes: “Leno will no doubt coach Ferguson on how to handle his post-late-night life. But it looks as if Ferguson already has some career options, including hosting the syndicated game show ‘Celebrity Name Game.’”
