A top NBC Sports ad executive opened up about how sales are going for the upcoming Super Bowl, telling The New York Times that he’s “very satisfied” with the pace of Super Bowl XLIX ad sales so far.
But Seth Winter, executive vice president for sales for the NBC Sports and NBCUniversal News Groups, added: “I’m never ‘extremely satisfied’ until we’re sold out.”
The network has reportedly sold close to 90 percent of available commercial time in the Feb. 1 game, which may be “a little slower pacing than previous years,” Winter added.
Last year, Fox Broadcasting executives said they were 95 percent sold out in September, and by December they said they were completely sold out of Super Bowl commercial time.
“We could very well be sold out by the end of December,” Winter added. “We’re in conversations with a lot of people.”
