NBC Dumps Bill Cosby Project; Old Cosby Bit About Drugging Women Goes Viral

As rape allegations continue to surface against onetime NBC “Must-See TV” frontman Bill Cosby, the network has decided not to get back into business with the veteran comedian.

USA Today reports that NBC is scrapping plans to do a new family sitcom with Cosby. The move comes after Netflix announced it was abandoning a planned Cosby special, as we reported earlier today.

Both the Neflix move and the NBC decision came after model Janice Dickinson, a former judge on “America’s Next Top Model,” added her voice to the chorus of Cosby accusers, as we reported previously.

Among the latest developments in the Cosby situation, USA Today reports: “An old Cosby bit about drugging women is going viral.” The reference is to a routine called “Spanish Fly” that appears on the Bill Cosby album “It’s True! It’s True!” You can hear audio of the track below.

The album was released in 1969, the same year that publicist Joan Tarshis alleges she was drugged and assaulted by Cosby.
