Bill Cosby Expects Only One Segment of the Media Will Treat Him Fairly

Dec 15, 2014  •  Post A Comment

Bill Cosby hinted that much of the media has already made up its mind about him, telling the New York Post’s Page Six that he’s looking to “the black media” to give him fair treatment amid allegations that he drugged and raped more than two dozen women.

“Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism, and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind,” Cosby, 77, told the publication.

The actor and comedian, who is being represented by attorneys Martin Singer and John B. Schmitt, said he has been advised not to talk to reporters about the allegations. He wouldn’t address the specific allegations, according to the Post, which said he sounded “upbeat.”

Asked how his wife, Camille Cosby, was doing given the allegations, he said she has responded with “love and the strength of womanhood.” He added: “Let me say it again, love and the strength of womanhood. And, you could reverse it, the strength of womanhood and love.”

  1. Cosby really said that Camille is able to cope with the swirling accusations with “love and the strength of womanhood… plus a lifetime supply of my drugged up cocktails.” Oh, and you can reverse that “A lifetime supply of my drugged up cocktails… plus love and the strength of womanhood.”

  2. Sounds like the race card being played.

  3. I agree EXACTLY with Eyeswideopen2. That sounds like an incredibly “reverse-racist” remark to me…and I don’t see people like Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson rushing to Cosby’s defense through any of this. He’s on an island all alone.

  4. He is so wrong. He was sleepy across all races. He has talked smack about blacks while also supporting black colleges so what were folks to believe? His support was selective and his bombastic nature was annoying.
