After issuing an ultimatum earlier this week in its impasse with Dish Network over retransmission fees, CBS appeared to soften its position Thursday.
The deadline CBS had set came and went, and CBS stations remained in the satellite provider’s lineup.
CBS had said it would pull its programming from Dish Thursday at 7 p.m. ET if an agreement couldn’t be reached. Instead, Deadline.com reports, the network issued a one-line statement: “CBS remains on the air with Dish while negotiations progress into the evening.”
The two are negotiating on an agreement covering CBS-owned stations in 14 cities, along with seven CW stations and a handful of others. Two extensions have already been granted in the talks, but CBS had said there would be no more.
