Television critics have named their top current TV series, and the selection is a surprise, according to HitFix, who conducted the poll.

The winner in the third annual Television Critics’ Poll on HitFix was FX’s “Fargo.” The series also topped a second poll that was limited to the best new shows.

The No. 1 show in both of the previous two surveys, “Breaking Bad,” is no longer in the survey after wrapping its run.

In the overall poll, CBS’s “The Good Wife” came in second, with HBO’s “Game of Thrones” third. Amazon’s “Transparent” was the runner-up among new shows and fourth overall.
