Fox Series Pulled Off the Air, Wrapping Up Production

Dec 1, 2014  •  Post A Comment

Stopping short of using the word “canceled,” Fox has reportedly pulled a show off the air and is wrapping production.

Deadline.com reports that the high-profile dramedy “Red Band Society” is wrapping up production in December, after just 13 episodes, and will come off the schedule with three episodes yet to air.

The series, produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Octavia Spencer as the head nurse on a pediatric teen cancer ward, hit the fall schedule with high expectations. The show, whose ratings have been soft, will leave the schedule after Wednesday, Deadline reports. It’s unclear when the final three episodes will air.

The report notes that the show hasn’t been canceled but adds that the chance of its coming back is “considered very slim.”

  1. Too bad. Fox used to be known for giving shows time to incubate. I guess it’s just easier to replicate the same old concepts.
