After what The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed calls an “extensive casting search,” Marvel and Netflix have cast “The Good Wife” actor Mike Colter as Luke Cage.
Colter will first appear as Cage in “Jessica Jones,” one of four dramas picked up straight to series by Netflix. In “A.K.A. Jessica Jones,” he will appear as Cage in a recurring role opposite Krysten Ritter, the story adds.
The role will then spin off to “Luke Cage,” with Colter in the title role. After that, he will work with Charlie Cox of “Daredevil,” along with Ritter and an uncast role for “Iron Fist” to conclude the four superhero stories, the piece adds.
Cage’s character began as “an ex-con who received superhuman strength following prison experiments. In more recent years, the character wound up in a relationship with Jessica Jones and joined the Avengers, eventually leading the Thunderbolts,” the report notes.
