Former “Saved by the Bell” actor Dustin Diamond was released from jail Monday after he posted $10,000 bail, People magazine reports.

As previously reported, Diamond, who played Screech on the long-running comedy series, was arrested in Wisconsin Friday morning after he allegedly stabbed a man with a switchblade in a bar fight in Port Washington.

“Diamond, 37, was charged with second-degree recklessly endangering safety, disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon after he admitted he was armed with a knife during a fight Dec. 25 at the Grand Avenue Saloon. Diamond, who was interviewed after he left the bar, told officers he was defending his 27-year-old fiancee Amanda Schutz,” People reports.

The article quotes Diamond’s attorney, Thomas Alberti, saying: “Dustin doesn’t feel like he is being wronged. He gets that when something like this happens, the police get involved and the court figures it out. He says the Port Washington police have been nothing but exemplary. He gets it. He knows there is a process in this country and in the end he will be exonerated.”
