An actress best known for her lead role in a hit ABC comedy has found a new star vehicle at Fox. Deadline.com reports that Jenna Elfman, who played Dharma in ABC’s “Dharma & Greg” from 1997-2002, was cast in the lead role in an untitled comedy pilot from Dana Klein and 20th Century Fox TV.

“Written by Klein and directed by Pam Fryman, it is told from the point of view of Ellen (Elfman), a working mom who is in constant competition with her perfect, stay-at-home sister-in-law,” Nellie Andreeva writes in the Deadline piece. “Ellen constantly second-guesses herself and, by extension, her husband. She worries she’s a bad mom/wife/daughter-in-law and often takes on more than she can handle in an effort to prove otherwise.”

Joining Klein as an exec producer on the project is Kapital Entertainment’s Aaron Kaplan, who also cast Elfman as the lead in the ABC comedy “Bad Mother,” Andreeva notes.
