ABC on Sunday placed orders for two comedy projects, including a lesbian family comedy from comedian Fortune Feimster to be produced by Tina Fey, according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed blog.

The network also picked up a new TV version of the John Hughes feature film “Uncle Buck.” Pilot orders for both projects were handed out on Super Bowl Sunday, THR notes. Both projects are from Universal Television, with ABC Studios also involved in the “Uncle Buck” project.

“Family Fortune” is described as a semi-autobiographical project written by “Chelsey Lately” veteran Feimster and “30 Rock” alum Matt Hubbard.

The project centers on “a popular gym teacher in Feimster’s native North Carolina who comes out of the closet to her close-knit group of family and friends. What she doesn’t realize is that she will also have to deal with her bickering and happily divorced parents also ‘coming out’ that they are sleeping together again,” THR notes.

“Uncle Buck” was a 1989 movie with John Candy and Amy Madigan. In 1990 there was a short-lived TV version on CBS starring Kevin Meany.
