Low Mark for MSNBC Program

A prime-time show on MSNBC just turned in one of its worst ratings performances ever. TVbytheNumbers.com reports that “The Rachel Maddow Show” dipped below the 100,000 mark in the key news demo Friday.

The show’s 9 p.m. broadcast delivered 96,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo, placing second in its time slot behind Fox News Channel’s “The Kelly File” (286,000 in the demo) while topping CNN’s “Wonder List” (62,000).

“It was the second time this year the show delivered under 100,000 adults 25-54 viewers and ranked as the program’s seventh lowest rated performance in its six-and-a-half year run among adults 25-54,” TVbytheNumbers reports, citing Nielsen figures.

In total viewers, “The Kelly File” led the time slot with 1,898,000, ahead of “Maddow” with 731,000 and “Wonder List” with 249,000.

  1. I find this very hard to believe as FOX is well known for lying about just about everything and Rachel Maddow’s rating have been above the million people for over 2 years now? One might think she is being high jacked as only the wealthy Koch Bros. have been uncovered for their meddeling into the media executives with their bribery!! I think this is BS

  2. Just like liberals: Ignore the facts and point fingers. It’s NEVER their fault. Maddow runs a show with impossibly high reverb (echo) where she portends to sit and attempt to connect dots that simply DO NOT CONNECT , and does it in a singularly sanctimonious fashion. MSNBC has been bleeding viewers for years due to the inability to talk TO their audience instead of talking DOWN to their audience.
Hey MSNBC! Maybe hire people with skill and personality instead of anger and petulance.
