The nation’s sixth-largest provider of TV services — with more than 5 million subscribers — has dropped The Weather Channel, reports our good friend Claire Atkinson in the New York Post.
The company dropping the Weather Channel is Verizon’s FiOS.
The story reports: “Verizon characterized the switch as a long-term business decision versus a carriage dispute … dashing hopes that the service may return promptly. The two parties were in the midst of working on a new agreement, the parties confirmed.”
FiOS replaced The Weather Channel with the AccuWeather Network., the story says.
