Job cuts continue at Viacom, with the company’s kid-focused Nickelodeon the latest to feel the pain. Writing on Deadline.com, Nellie Andreeva reports that executives and assistants in areas including preschool, animation, legal and talent were sent packing.
The moves follow personnel reductions at other Viacom properties, including MTV, VH1 and TV Land.
Andreeva writes of the Nickelodeon layoffs: “I hear among those who have departed in the restructuring are Emmy winner Teri Weiss, Nickelodeon’s EVP Preschool Programming; Kay Wilson Stallings, SVP, Production & Development, Nickelodeon Preschool, Nick Jr., Nick Jr. and NickMom; and Nickelodeon Animation Studio SVPs Rich Magallanes and Jenna Boyd.”
Nickelodeon wasn’t commenting, but Andreeva notes that the company released a statement last week saying: “As announced, we are in the process of restructuring and there will be employees leaving the company as a result. We are so grateful for the contributions they have made to Viacom.”
