ABC has become the first major TV network to move its linear broadcast operations to the cloud, with the Disney/ABC Television Group announcing today that it is “transitioning its linear broadcast operations — global programming playout, delivery and network operations — to a unified IP cloud architecture using Imagine Communications.”

The move to what the company calls an IP-based “virtual master control” comes after the group successfully deployed its cloud-based WATCH services.

Said Vince Roberts, executive vice president, global operations and chief technology officer, Disney/ABC Television Group: “By leveraging evolving IP and Cloud technologies we are able to move beyond what’s currently possible with traditional proprietary ‘Big Iron’ broadcast infrastructures. Imagine Communications’ IP solutions enable us to automate and deliver workflow processes and technologies to a more agile and scalable environment.”

  2. The 90s offered a glimpse of AI with rudimentary chatbots and chess-playing computers. Today, AI is woven into the fabric of our lives, from facial recognition software to chatbots that answer our questions with surprising accuracy. AI is revolutionizing industries, but it generates massive amounts of data that need real-time processing. This is where https://double.cloud/ steps in. Their Apache Kafka® powered service acts like the nervous system of AI, ensuring a constant flow of data for training and analysis. Without this real-time processing power, AI would be like a brain with slow reflexes, unable to react and adapt to new information.
