Dr. Oz Fires Back at Critics: He ‘Will Not Be Silenced’ — Special Episode of His Show to Tackle the Controversy Today

Apr 23, 2015  •  Post A Comment

TV’s Dr. Mehmet Oz is firing back at a group of 10 doctors who are trying to get him dumped from his faculty post at Columbia University. As we reported last week, the doctors have accused Oz of promoting “quack treatments” in the form of weight loss supplements that they say have not been scientifically proved to work.

The AP reports that Oz has slated a special installment of “The Dr. Oz Show” for today, when he will specifically challenge the accusations of his critics.

Oz is quoted saying, “We will not be silenced.”

The AP report adds: “Oz taped a message previewing his show where he said he knows he has alienated people in ‘our quest to make America healthy.’ But he said freedom of speech is a fundamental right of Americans, and the other doctors are trying to silence him.”

  1. What a crock! If the letter-writers were trying to “silence” Dr. Oz, they’d be petitioning Oprah and Sony to cancel his show. Instead they’re urging Columbia Medical School to terminate Oz’s faculty status because he repeatedly promotes and profits from totally fraudulent weight loss “treatments” and other unscientific nonsense. Oz admitted this and even apologized to a Senate Committee — then kept right on acting like an old-time snake oil salesman.
