HBO has announced renewals for two of its comedy series. The pay-cable channel picked up a fifth season of the Julia Louis-Dreyfus vehicle “Veep” along with a third season of the Mike Judge-Alec Berg series “Silicon Valley.”

HBO programming boss Michael Lombardo made the announcement today.

Said Lombardo: “’Veep’ and ‘Silicon Valley’ are terrific series, and I’m immensely proud that they will return to HBO next year. Along with ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,’ both of which have already been renewed for 2016, they give HBO a stellar Sunday night like no other.”

The Emmy-nominated “Veep” launched its fourth season Sunday, with “Silicon Valley” launching season two the same night.
