A prolific producer has been named the new head of programming at the Lifetime cable network. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Liz Gateley was named executive VP of programming.
Gateley, who co-founded the shingle DiGa, will report to Rob Sharenow, executive VP and general manager of Lifetime and A&E, the story reports.
The new job “marks a homecoming for Gateley. The Laguna Beach creator got her start on the network’s development team before her long tenure at MTV,” the report notes.
Said Sharenow: “Liz has great passion and vision for the Lifetime brand. She started her career here, developing scripted and reality series, before moving to MTV, where she had an incredibly successful run transforming that network and the TV landscape in general with a string of genre-defining hits.”
Gateley has had a hand in “Teen Wolf,” “Laguna Beach,” “16 & Pregnant” and “Jersey Shore,” to name a few.
