Syfy today announced plans for three new series as it took the wraps off a summer slate highlighted by “Summertime’s Must-Watch Event,” the premiere of “Sharknado 3.”

The three new original series are “Dark Matter,” premiering Friday, June 12, “Killjoys,” bowing Friday, June 19, and “Geeks Who Drink,” which debuts Thursday, July 16.

“Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” is set to unspool Wednesday, July 22, in the midst of Syfy’s second annual Sharknado Week programming event.

In addition, the cable channel has locked in plans for the season premieres of returning series “Defiance,” “Dominion” and “Face Off.”
