Vanilla Ice Strikes a Deal in Burglary Case

It appears that Vanilla Ice won’t be put on “Ice Ice Baby” in connection with a burglary case in Florida. E! Online reports that the former rapper, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, struck a deal with prosecutors after being accused of grand theft and burglary.

“His lawyer Bradford Cohen confirms to E! News that all charges have been dropped. He’ll have to pay $1,333 in restitution and complete 100 hours of community service with Habitat for Humanity,” the article reports.

The report quotes Cohen saying: “Ice will have no problems completing the community service because he averages 40-60 hours a month already. Good things happen to good people, that’s why there was such a great resolution to this case.”

All of the charges will reportedly be dismissed in nine months provided Van Winkle holds up his end of the bargain and stays out of trouble.

Van Winkle, who has recently appeared on the DIY reality TV show “The Vanilla Ice Project,” has characterized the incident as a big mix-up.
