A familiar TV personality has been announced by ABC Entertainment as the host of the 2015 ESPYs ceremony, to be broadcast live July 15. The host will be comedian and actor Joel McHale.

McHale is known for hosting the E! show “The Soup” and for playing Jeff Winger on the NBC comedy series “Community.” He has also appeared in feature films including “Spider-Man 2,” and hosted last year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

The ESPYs honor achievements in sports during the past year.
