President Obama is set for a return to CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” as the host enters the home stretch before his retirement later this month.

The network announced that Obama is scheduled for a spot on the Monday, May 4, installment of the show. Letterman’s last show is set for May 20.

The appearance will be Obama’s eighth and final visit to Letterman’s long-running show, the announcement notes, and his third as president.

“He last appeared on the broadcast Sept. 18, 2012, and prior to that on Sept. 21, 2009. As an Illinois senator, he appeared on the ‘Late Show’ five times, beginning in 2004 and continuing through his 2008 presidential campaign,” the announcement notes.

The release adds: “Also making their final appearances with Letterman the week of May 4 are actor Will Ferrell and musical guests the Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile (Monday, May 4); actress Reese Witherspoon and musical guests Mumford and Sons (Tuesday, May 5); actor Martin Short and musical guest Norah Jones (Wednesday, May 6); actress Tina Fey (Thursday, May 7); and actor Ray Romano, standup comedian Brian Regan and musical guests Dave Matthews Band (Friday, May 8).”
