NBC’s “Today” show pulled off a rare achievement in its ratings battle with ABC’s “Good Morning America” — rare by recent standards.

“Today,” which used to regularly come in at No. 1, hasn’t done much of that lately, but TheWrap.com reports that “Today” found itself back on top last week in the key news demo of viewers 25-54.

For the week of April 20, “Today” averaged 1.793 million viewers in the demo, to 1.765 million for “GMA.”

It was “Today’s” biggest weekly win over “GMA” since February 2014, when NBC was covering the Winter Olympics from Sochi, TheWrap reports.

“GMA” still won total viewers for the week of April 20, averaging 5.08 million to 4.8 million for “Today.”

The demo win was the first for “Today” since Christmas week in 2014, the report notes.
