A rapper best known for a 1990s hit died over the weekend in a traffic collision on California’s Pacific Coast Highway. The Los Angeles Times reports that Dewayne Coleman, who went by MC Supreme, was pronounced dead early Saturday following the crash in Malibu. He was 47.

“He was in the driver’s seat of a parked Honda Civic about 6:22 a.m. when he was hit by a GMC pickup truck on Pacific Coast Highway at Corral Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department,” the Times reports.

A female passenger in the Civic reportedly received moderate injuries, while the driver of the truck, identified as Philip Thomas Torres II, 34, of Oxnard, received minor injuries.

Torres was reportedly arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, and investigators were examining whether drugs or alcohol figured into the collision.
