ABC Pulls Fall Drama Series From Lineup

Jun 2, 2015  •  Post A Comment

ABC has decided to pull a new drama series from the lineup while the show undergoes retooling. Deadline.com reports that the biblical series “Of Kings and Prophets” was yanked from Sunday nights as producers work on casting changes and other tweaks.

The move is part of a number of changes going on with ABC’s fall schedule.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the network will use Sunday nights to jump-start its FBI drama series “Quantico.”

“The buzzy drama, starring international star Priyanka Chopra, moves into the 10 p.m. hour now that period piece ‘Of Kings and Prophets’ is getting delayed,” THR reports. “The latter, already undergoing casting changes, just recently saw the arrival of a showrunner in veteran executive producer Chris Brancato.”

Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reports that the episode order for “Of Kings and Prophets” has been cut from 13 to 10. She adds: “I hear getting recast is the role of Joab, played in the pilot by Tomer Kapon, with another possible but not locked in change for the role of Merav, played by Alex McGregor.”

The THR report notes: “‘Quantico’ will now get a lead-in from (the recently renamed) ‘Blood and Oil’ on Sunday night, easily the network’s most tweaked-with for the fall season.”

The lineup changes leave open, for the time being, the 10 p.m. slot on Tuesday nights, where “Forever” recently aired before its cancellation.

  1. Perfect opportunity to bring back FOREVER! 🙂

    • I agree Craig. I would love to see FOREVER come back. If it doesn’t at least they gave it, and us, a fitting final episode. With no cliffhanger. Which is what they do with many shows that get the ax. They leave us hanging. I hope a cable network or a streaming service decides to pick it up. If not at least Henry, Jo, Lucas and Abe road off into the sunset. To all the people involved in FOREVER thank you for a fun ride. Please be proud of what you did. Remember cancelation does not mean failure…Also class act by Ioan in his Thank You letter to the fans.

  2. It’s a sign that Forever must come back! The TV God’s have spoken.
