Clint Eastwood’s Caitlyn Jenner Joke Cut From Awards Telecast

A joke made by Clint Eastwood at the expense of Caitlyn Jenner will be cut from Spike TV’s telecast of the “Guys Choice Awards,” Deadline.com reports. The program is set to air Thursday, June 18.

The live event took place June 6. Hollywood Life reports: “As Clint was introducing The Rock, he compared the ‘San Andreas’ star to former athletes who have become actors, like ‘Jim Brown and Caitlyn Somebody …,’ according to an eyewitness. Instead of laughing, the crowd groaned, and Clint said that he knew the joke wouldn’t work when he brought it up to the show’s producers.”

Deadline notes: “Although Spike bills the show as ‘everything that a typical award show is not — a hilarious, unpretentious, heartfelt event where comedy is king,’ the cable net confirmed today that the gag-worthy gag won’t make the final telecast.”

  1. Offensive? Are you kidding? It was just a good natured jab at best. Lighten up.

  2. Hey Prompter Bob, I know reading is hard, but the word offensive isn’t used at all in the article. Not once. Try again buddy.

  3. Hi Prompter Bob, Reader Bob is upset with your offensive and grossly inaccurate statement so to make sure he’s even more snuggly and happy about himself, please edit your post using the word “insensitive” per the HL article.

  4. Funny, the word insensitive doesn’t appear in the article either. Another non-reader. My point is the joke was “gag-worthy” and got a “groan” from the audience. Not because people were offended or thought it was insensitive, but because it was a bad joke. You’re adding more to it than was there. Again, learn to read and we’ll all be better off. Hooked on Phonics kids.

  5. What would we do without you, Reader Bob? Just setting all us dimwit, non-reader kids straight.

The TV BizWire blurb’s source article: “The live event took place June 6. Hollywood Life reports

Now that you’re on a roll, we’ll just quietly continue to giggle at your “adding more to it than was there” to Prompter Bob’s comment.
