A taping of NBC’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” scheduled for today was canceled after the host was hospitalized with a hand injury.

The program’s official Twitter account sent out a message that said: “Hey guys — unfortunately tonight’s taping has been cancelled due to Jimmy injuring his hand. He’s totally fine but we’ll be airing a repeat.”

No other details were released, but the show also sent out a message to ticketholders, saying: “”If you had tickets to tonight’s show, we’ll be in contact with you to reschedule your tix.”

Scheduled guests for the show were Benicio Del Toro, Taylor Kitsch and Penn and Teller.

In a statement, a publicist for Fallon, 40, said: “Jimmy Fallon was required to have minor surgery after injuring his hand at his Manhattan apartment this morning. He is expected to make a full recovery.”

  1. Oops. Get well Jimmy. We’ll miss your signature Thank You Letters Friday bit tonight.

  2. Why no reruns on Comcast’s On Demand?
Hope his hand heals soon. We miss him.
