Secret Will Ferrell-Kristen Wiig Lifetime TV Movie Confirmed — After Ferrell and Wiig Said They Had Scrapped It

A Lifetime project that has been the source of a series of rumors and false information has been confirmed, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The project is the TV movie “A Deadly Adoption,” starring “SNL” alums Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig.

Word leaked back in early April about the project, which Ferrell and others apparently wanted to keep secret. Ferrell followed with a statement saying that because of the leak, the project had been scrapped. A number of media outlets — including this one — carried that report, with varying degrees of skepticism.

The project, which had reportedly already been filmed, remained clouded in mystery until a large billboard recently appeared on Hollywood Boulevard promoting the movie.

THR cites sources saying it will air Saturday, June 20 — even though the billboard contains yet another piece of misinformation, saying the movie will premiere “Sunday, June 20.” June 20 falls on a Saturday this year.

The billboard includes the tagline “The birth of a plan gone wrong,” THR notes.
