An actor from the “Star Wars” feature film franchise was arrested following a high-speed chase. The Washington Post reports that Jake Lloyd was arrested Wednesday in South Carolina.

Lloyd played a young Anakin Skywalker as a child actor in the 1999 prequel “Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace.” He was arrested for allegedly speeding, evading police and driving without a license. Bond was reportedly set at $10,700.

The report quotes Colleton County Sheriff Sgt. Kyle Strickland saying Lloyd, 26, “didn’t appear to be on drugs or intoxicated.”

Strickland said the incident grew out of a report of reckless driving that came in around 2 p.m. Wednesday. When police approached Lloyd’s car on Interstate 95, he allegedly attempted to drive away.

“Lloyd reportedly hit speeds of 100 miles per hour as he attempted to evade police by, among other things, driving off-road and into a wooded area and hitting several small trees before stopping,” the story reports.
