An emotional Tracy Morgan talked for the first time about the limo crash a year ago that seriously injured the comedian and killed his friend James McNair.

Morgan, known for “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock,” was interviewed by Matt Lauer on NBC’s “Today” show. The interview comes after Morgan settled a lawsuit last week against Walmart stemming from the June 7, 2014, collision.

Morgan was left with debilitating injuries after the limo in which he and a number of friends were riding was hit by a Walmart truck.

In the interview, Morgan told Lauer: “The case is settled, but the pain is always going to be there for Jimmy Mac. Bones heal, but the loss of my friend will never heal.”
