Cosby Wants His Money Back From the Accuser He Settled With Back in 2006

Jul 24, 2015  •  Post A Comment

Back in 2005 Andrea Constand sued Bill Cosby, claiming that he had sexually assaulted her after giving her drugs. In 2006, the case was settled before it was tried. That settlement involved an undisclosed amount of money paid by Cosby to Constand for her keeping quiet about the case.

And now Cosby wants all or some of his money back.

Writes the New York Daily News, “Cosby’s new filing accuses Constand’s camp of helping leak [Cosby’s] full deposition [from the case] to the New York Times in recent days because it failed to inform its private court reporting service of the confidentiality clause [in the settlement].

” ‘That conscious neglect has led directly to a colossal breach of that confidentiality,’ Cosby’s filing states. He points out that Constand isn’t trying to toss their full agreement, just the privacy pact. ‘Obviously, she wants to keep what she was paid,’ his filing states.”

The filing also says that “The key component to the Settlement Agreement, from the Defendant’s [Cosby’s] perspective, was confidentiality.”

However, if the Settlement Agreement is now voided (because of the leak to the newspapers of the full deposition), the filing says, “that would require plaintiff to disgorge some or all of the money paid to her by Defendant [Cosby] as part of the Settlement.”

  1. Rapist Cosby got his sex, now he wants money back? How much more sleazy can this clown get? Send him far, far away, and soon.

  2. Great! Give him his money back. Then she can sell the whole story to a network for $100,000. More proof that he has lost it.
