Regis Philbin — who has been called the hardest-working man in show business — is back on the job. After retiring from ABC’s “Live with Regis and Kelly” in 2011, the 83-year-old is back in his old daypart, this time on NBC.
The AP reports that Philbin is joining the network’s “Today” show as a contributor for the show’s fourth hour. The move reunites Philbin with his longtime co-host Kathie Lee Gifford.
Philbin has made a number of recent guest appearances on the program. NBC said that in his new role he will be on about once a month.
