As many as 10 shots rang out as a news crew was shooting video on location in the Mount Vernon area of Washington state over the weekend.

The incident took place Saturday evening as KOMO-TV reporter Kara Kostanich and her photographer were preparing to report a story on an earlier drive-by shooting in the neighborhood.

“In the raw footage, you can hear the sound of a horn honking, followed moments later by a silver late model Honda Accord sedan and a dark green late model Dodge or Chrysler minivan speeding by the camera,” KOMO reports.

Kostanich later said: “So the shots were fired and of course my immediate reaction was just to get down. And so within a few seconds of that, I ran around the front of the Explorer, got in the passenger seat and ducked under the dashboard.”

The photographer took cover inside a nearby home, the station reported. Nobody fom the station was hurt in the incident.
