Discovery Communications has reorganized its network portfolio and shifted the assignments of some key executives. President and CEO David Zaslav announced the changes Thursday.
The moves are designed to create “a portfolio group that balances and aligns the company’s brands, genres and creative leadership and strengthens the output of Discovery’s content engine across platforms in the United States and around the world,” the company said.
Among the changes, Discovery Channel boss Rich Ross adds oversight of Animal Planet as group president, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Science Channel. Discovery Life Channel is being integrated into TLC.
Group President Henry Schleiff will continue to lead Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel and Destination America.
