A pair of well-known actors will be a part of the HBO fantasy series “Game of Thrones,” with Ian McShane and Max von Sydow signing on for season six.

Deadline.com reports that HBO confirmed the signing of the two veteran actors, with the role of McShane, who was a key player on the HBO series “Deadwood,” being kept secret.

“Von Sydow will play the Three-Eyed Raven, the mystical tutor of Bran Stark who was seen briefly in the Season 4 finale (played by a different actor),” Deadline notes. Von Sydow, a two-time Oscar nominee, is known for film roles including “Minority Report” and “The Exorcist.”

HBO President of Programming Michael Lombardo has been hinting recently that “Game of Thrones” will run eight seasons, as Deadline reported separately.
