Leonardo DiCaprio is on board as an executive producer on a new Mafia-focused television series in development at Showtime, Variety reports. The untitled project is set in the 1980s.
“Ray Donovan” writer Brett Johnson is also attached, the story reports.
“The Brooklyn-set potential series follows a decade-long relationship between an unstable mafia captain and a rogue federal agent, each violating the strict codes of their respective organizations,” Variety reports. “The drama examines the power the Wall Street era had on the mafia and the FBI.”
The report adds: “Johnson will serve as writer on the project and will exec produce with DiCaprio, Appian Way’s Jennifer Davisson, Charles Pacheco, Jennifer Erwin, Dan Pearson and another ‘Ray Donovan’ member Bryan Zuriff.”
