Former President of ABC News Moves in Front of the Camera, Will Host Cable Show

The former president of ABC News is headed to cable to be in front of the cameras as the co-host of a morning show. Variety reports that David Westin will co-host the new program “Bloomberg GO” alongside Stephanie Ruhle.

The program aims at a global business audience, including traders and financial executives.

Westin headed ABC News from 1997 through 2010. But the man who helped guide “Good Morning America” says the new show will be much less chit-chatty.

“Our audience will be impatient with that sort of stuff,” Westin told Variety. “They are busy people who want to get something they can use something they aren’t going to get somewhere else. If we don’t give them that, they are going to go on to somewhere else.”

The new show debuts Oct. 5 on Bloomberg TV, where it will air between 7 and 10 a.m.
