HBO has greenlighted a new comedy project to be directed and executive produced by Judd Apatow. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that Apatow, who executive produces the pay-cable net’s “Girls,” received a pilot order for “Crashing.”
The single-camera project stars Pete Holmes.
“The semi-autobiographical comedy stars former TBS late-night host Holmes as a sweet, wholesome comedian who stays on the couches of New York’s finest comedians after his wife leaves him,” THR reports. “In addition to starring, Holmes will exec produce alongside Apatow and Holmes’ manager, Dave Rath. The comedy will begin production in November and marks the first pilot directing job for Apatow.”
