Model and Actress Emily Ratajkowski Wishes She Could Put That Stunning Music Video Behind Her — So Here’s the Video, One Last Time

After her largely naked breakout role in a music video, Emily Ratajkowski now calls the video “the bane of my existence.”

Billboard reports that the model and actress, who made a big impression with her appearance in Robin Thicke’s video for “Blurred Lines” in 2013, said in an interview with U.K. InStyle that she’s tired of talking about it and is ready to move on.

“I wasn’t into the idea at all at first. I think I came off as a bit annoyed in the video. Now, it’s the bane of my existence,” the 24-year-old Ratajkowski says in the interview. “When anyone comes up to me about ‘Blurred Lines,’ I’m like, are we seriously talking about a video from three years ago?”

The video, which has probably been viewed at least half a billion times in various forms online, spawned a cottage industry on Internet video sites, with countless parody versions appearing alongside official releases featuring varying degrees of nudity. (Our version below is NOT the most risque, by far.)

Ratajkowski’s career got a big boost from the video, and she is now focused on more substantive acting roles — including in the 2014 feature “Gone Girl” and this year’s “Entourage.”

Here’s another look at “Blurred Lines”:

  1. I like Weird Al’s version better: Word Crimes. Look that one up on youtube, especially if you can’t stand “text spelling.”

  2. The goal should be to do something even better that makes people forget the video. Not keep complaining so sites like this offers it to more people, that have never seen it, and are reminded that you were in it.
