Drama Series Canceled

A gritty drama series has received its cancellation notice and won’t be making it back for its fourth season. Deadline.com reports that USA Network pulled the plug on “Graceland, with the move coming a month after USA canceled the freshman series “Complications.”

“Both series hail from Fox 21 TV Studios and both were conceived by the creators of two of USA’s signature series, ‘White Collar‘s’ Jeff Eastin (‘Graceland’) and ‘Burn Notice‘s’ Matt Nix (‘Complications’),” Deadline reports.

Eastin sent out a tweet after he heard the news, writing: “Just got the word, there will be no more #GracelandTV. Thank you to the best cast, crew and fans in television.”

The series on undercover agents stars Daniel Sunjata, Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Ferlito and Brandon Jay McLaren. Deadline notes that the show averaged 1.7 million viewers, with 784,000 in the key demo of adults 18-49, in Live+7 ratings this summer.

“Similarly to the rationale behind USA’s decision to cancel ‘Complications’ and to cut short the runs of both ‘Burn Notice’ and ‘White Collar,’ the network ultimately determined that the ratings did not justify keeping series that it doesn’t own on the air for financial reasons,” Deadline notes.

  1. The problem for Graceland is that everyone was always looking for Elvis.
